MG Midget and Sprite Technical - 1275 master clutch cly removal

You can leave the pedal box in if it are the seperated MC's. First remove the clutch pipe as it is harder to do when the MC is lose. After that it is 2 bolts and a clevispin |

thanks for repl i cant get at the 2 bolts that secure the cly |

you can with the right tools; IIRC you need a 1/4" or 3/8" square drive socket set and a stepped / offset ring spanner. |

many thanks i will sort some out can you replace seals without removing cly |

it *might* be possible to do seals in situ, but wouldn't recommend it. Several small parts plus fluid everywhere = opportunity to drop / lose bits and make a mess! Removal tip - remove the split pin and clevis pin first, then the forked rod can be eased to one side making access for tools that bit easier. The top bolt is easy, the bottom bolt is a sod; soak in WD40 *other releasing agents are available* for an hour or two beforehand. |
