MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Another exhaust question

Hi folks
Managed to get the carbs reasonably well set - didn't take the car on it's mammoth run last weekend as the weather forecast was so cr*p. turned out even worse than forecast too...
Anyway - my question is this. The curved pipe joining the two rear silencer boxes looks as if it has seen better days, so I'll probably be needing to replace later in the year. Is it feasable to fit the early type of 1275cc exhaust, i.e without the back box slung cross ways beneath the rear numberplate?
Cheers chaps.

Yes
Onno K

That's how mine is...
Pete Ottewell

And mine!
Quite loud though (in a good way).
G Williams (Graeme)

just change the back box and possibly some of the fittings to hold it, allow for being not too close to fuel tank and rear suspension at full drop and lift

the state of tune and servicing can make a very noticeable difference to the loudness of the exhaust plus of course lack of use wont coat the inside of the new part

Dom,
did you see my post in your other thread about your upside down heating? (and of course the triumph of the good book)
Nigel Atkins

I did thanks Nigel. (I presumed the heating pipe layout was for the Australian market)

Dominic. I managed to fit A janspeed performance box. it's very tight - less than a centimetre either side. There's a long stud on my shell and I used a selection of rubber spacers and bushs from Moss. part nos GEX7151 (rubbers) and GEX7152 (spacer bush).
I think the MGOC or MOSS single box systems are a smaller diameter so would probably fit with more space.
