MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Anti-oil drip solution

I know it isn't Friday, but here is an udderly ridiculous way of stopping oil dripping on you from the oil strainer when working under the car and you have removed the sump!

Very good

I used a large sandwich bag with a rubber band but your idea is more classy!
Bob Beaumont

Laverne & Shirley Style....haha working at the brewer

you have to be 45 plus years old to get that comment

Prop, I have long passed the 45yr marker but still don't get your comment. Must be a mid-west redneck joke?

When I got back to it 2 days later, the fingers were sticking out, about 3/4 full of oil and it looked rather funnier - I just forgot to get the ace photo!
GuyW

Guy. Did you not get happy days it's spin-off Laverne and Shirley over your side of the country? Required viewing in the North-east otherwise there'd be nowt to talk about at school.
graeme jackson

Eh? No, never heard of it! TV, l presume, or maybe flicks?
Guy Weller

Didn't have a TV when l was a kid.
Guy Weller

Guy,

You must be pretty young since Laverne and Shirley ran from January 1976 to May 1983. ;-)
Martin

Ah, wrong generation then. Maybe my kids watched it - we bought our first TV in 1981. They got to choose one program and 1 cartoon each per day. Then it went off.
Guy Weller

Youre not the only one Guy. I have never heard of it either. Probably because I never watched much American tv as it was mostly rubbish. Mind you I suppose that was better than now when virtually all tv is rubbish.

Trevor,

Funny that you should mention that American TV was rubbish. I agree with you. The best "American" shows were based on British shows. All in the Family (Til Death do us Part) and Sanford and Son (Steptoe and Son) come to mind.
Martin

Rubbish tv.... i wouldnt go that far.

i sure like it alot better then all the crap we have to day...but then agian i am a child of the 70s and 80s when life was the best it ever was ...at least in the usa

wonder bug, giligans island, i dream of jennie, love american style, 3 stoogies, dallas, my 3 sons, rocky and bull winkle, gun smoke , bonanza , the 6 million dollar man, max headroom, adam 12, dick clark, johnny quest, speedracer, plus all the ones listed above and the list goes on for another 800 shows

they were simple shows that were about just entertaining there wasnt all the PC crap ever show has to have in today world

Don't forget the Dukes of Hazzard, A-team, Nightrider and although not very intelectualy challeging: WWF

Another vote for ignorance. Never heard of it - and I don't remember anybody called Laverne or Shirley on Happy Days, either.

BTW, we loved Happy Days at the time, but when it appeared again recently on one of the obscure channels, we found it unwatchable.

How sophisticated we must have become. Though that seems unlikely, given the garbage we DO watch nowadays.
