MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Any One Else?

Just wondering, is anyone else afraid to click on the randon post here, "173.112.25.147" by lus**G?

What is that?

Looks like a system glitch. Probably someone posting while it was archiving.

I think that it may have been spam that has been removed

Dave & Gary,

At least on the USA version of the BBS it's lodged itself into the first post in Technical, and doesn't move?

If anyone knows who the BBS web master or thread Mediator is it would be as well for them to contact them to get the techies to remove the entry.
Dave Squire - Notts

Just dropped e-mail to main e-mail address for this site anyways to ask to have the thread removed. Would be better if someone knew the moderator to request its removal.

Strange - it was on there a few days then disappeared, and has come back today on my computer. And yesterday I was reading a post (wishbone/kingpin alignment) that obviously had a picture but it didn't - until about 12 hours later.

there's a 'report abuse' link at the bottom of this very page, that anyone can use.
Some other pages have a 'contact webmaster' link at the bottom too.

I clicked on it when it 1 st came up....nothing happened...iirc it came up as an error message

David,

My first thought when it disappeared the first time was that someone had contacted the web-master, and it was deleated. Now it's back.

Prop,

What! Most of us are staying clear for fear of a virus. Perhaps the web-master could use you like an EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) specialist. Find a suspicious post, and have you clear it for us. You'd be a hero, at least until your computer crashes.

All it says each time I click on it, is :---

Never heard of the phrase 'Curiosity killed the cat?' I bet you and Prop have a shed full of stuff the used to work fine but was pulled apart to see how it worked and now sits hidden half assembled in a box under the bench somewhere?

How many of those British lotteries where you've won a million pounds have you tried to claim? Or the Nigerian who's business partner died and he's got a few million to hide and just needs your bank details to store?

The scammers love inquisitive trusting soles like you! lol

You nailed me exactly greg.....

for me toys where meant to be opened up and explored....i dont recall ever owning a toy that lasted longer then a weeek before being opened up...even now its rare i dont open up worn out tools and appliances just to see whats inside before throwing in the trash

Prop

But to your point... A virus only occured to me after i clicked, i cant imagine there would be a virus lurking about on the forum...this place is extremely limited as to what you can do

But had there been a suspesious link inside that thread...im wouldnt have clicked....

My guess if a virus is going to get you here, it would be under the image link in threads... And even then id think the virus designer would have to really know his stuff to get oast photo protocals code to trick the website into beliving the virus is a photo, and to alow it to do its mischief

In the 10 plus years ive been here i dont recall anyone getting a nasty cold from this site

So yeah... Im probably to trusting on this site...but i do keep my syrnge with a #12 needle of anti virus serum up to date for just in case
Prop and the Blackhole Midget

Nah Greg, as Prop says, text based forum thread, can't contain a Virus, and even I'm not stupid enough to not have anti virus on my comp.

Your right about the garage and loft full of stuff that I've pulled apart in the past though -- some of which is still not back together. lol.
