MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Big day

Big day today. Sun shining.

And, first time in my ownership that my Frog has been moved around on its own 4 wheels, and very probably a lot longer than that! Last time this car was registered for the road was 1984.

GuyW

well done, Guy.
I think that Frogs look cracking in that powder blue...onwards!
David Cox

Why is it that pictures of freshly painted shells always make me want to take my car to pieces again?
AdrianR

Lovely colour for a Frog.

Control box looks a bit straight. :)
Nigel Atkins

Satisfying isn't it! I extracted mine before Christmas, to take it to have a new Lenham body fitted.
Are you sure you have the engine mounts the right way up and on the correct sides, they look a bit odd in the pic?

David Smith

David, I hadn't realised they could go any other way, with their 2 and 1 bolt configuration. But of course if I have also swapped them over side to side then they could be wrong! I would have found out later - that is if you are right!

Whilst looking at the detail, you will also see I still have wooden blocks under the top suspension link arms to stop them over compressing and splitting the rubber stops.
GuyW

Beautiful Guy. That's made me very happy.

He is right.
Nick and Cherry Scoop

I think the mounts are reversed

Great job guy, that is just an insane amount of work and it looks so nice in that powder blue

That is going to be a true work of art when you get it done.

Nice job. And I agree that the mounts are reversed. The right one has a circular notch to clear the steering column.
Martin

Oh....that powder blue colour gives me ideas as regards engine bay colour. I have a shonky black rusty finish at present....
Oggers

Thanks all. There is along, long way to go! Its also now beginning to soak up the cash, compared to what I have done so far, a lot of which was done for very little outlay.

Prop, for you:

Well done Guy! I'm trying to catch you up but the front end is taking ages and my welder has just packed up.....
Bill Bretherton

Well done Guy!
An inspiration for all us currently mid project.
