MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Clutch Arm Gaiter
So I was replacing a broken speedo cable and noticed the clutch arm gaiter was split so I though I would also replace it. The new part has arrived and I cant seem to get the gaiter over the end of the clutch release arm. Must be geting old. Any one got any tips?

just slide it on with a little lubrication from washing up liquid

I’d also be tempted to wrap some insulation tape around the end of the fork to help it on its way.

Bob Every time I mention using washing up liquid someone comes along saying that the salt content will dissolve the part before your eyes. Happily in the fifty odd years I have been using it, mainly for the easement of hoses, my Frogeye hasn't dissolved. Alan

Alan Yes I heard that too!! but like you I haven't had a problem. I fitted a windscreen a few years ago and the rubber is still fine! Perhaps I used Fairy liquid!
