MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Electric fuel pump
Just found that one of the plastic hose connections to my fuel pump has broken, can you buy and replace just the hose connection or do you have to buy a complete new pump? Car is a 1963 mk2 Sprite. Cheers Geoff

http://sucarb.co.uk/su-fuel-pumps-spares.html I've had a quick look but cannot see the hose connections listed. You may need to contact them and ask
Guy W
If that isn't sucessful then do you know anyone with a 3D printer?
Guy W
Cheers Guy I will give them a call. Looks like it has gone brittle with age. Cheers Geoff

A friend has a 3D printer and has been printing small plastic components for 1/4 scale model aircraft (so quite large!) - just this sort of application. I cannot offer his assistance but if you do get stuck I could see what he says.
Guy W
Ok Guy, I'll see what the SU guys say tomorrow. Cheers Geoff

Just an off hand qhestion Would there be any advantage to adding a condensor to the fuel pump points Just an old thought id had once upon a time Prop
1 Paper
Well Prop, Some years ago I fitted a diode across the contacts on mine. I could see it completely stopped the arcing with it fitted - whereas a condenser I tried didn't. You have to be sure you get the diode the right way round and never change the battery polarity though. Ideally you should fit a 'transil' which isn't polarity conscious. http://ttypes.org/ttt2/extend-the-life-of-your-su-fuel-pump-fit-a-transil Jim
