MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Endoscope

Not sure if this is a General, or a Technical topic, but here's a "heads up" for a USB Endoscope which may be of interest.

Its at a pretty good sale price of £19.98 at the moment. It takes colour video and also still snapshots which could be useful. Camera head at 11.5mm means it should be small enough to go down a cylinder head plug hole and I am sure that Prop could find other similar orifices to satisfy his inquisitive nature.

Happy New Year, Prop. Some might have objected to such a jest, but one can always rely on your sense of humour. Good on y'a!

If you're referring to the Ebuyer one

http://www.ebuyer.com/654834-xenta-flexible-usb-inspection-camera-etf-b28y08e

the reviews aren't spectacular.

I was having a look at it earlier. The focal distance is from 6cm to infinity, so maybe not so good for inspecting bores. Also, the software is somewhat lacking.

The one that Mark linked to is from 2cm, apparently.

Yes Dave, that's the one. I was certain that I had cut and pasted in a tiny URL link! Might it have been rejected for some reason?
Thanks for the advice, perhaps then I won't bother after all. Does that one that Mark links to have built in lighting?
Guy W

yes it has a dimmer for the light on the side of the usb plug .

There you go Prop, it even has a dimmer on it's usb plug ha ha ha

Just got one of these on sale for $59.99 (about 40 BP?) Not USB, but uses AA batteries. Seems decent with color screen. Not sure how resistant the camera is, but would be nice to view the inside of fuel tank as well as cylinders or intake/carbs. Harbor Freight is our "budget" Chinese tool emporium. I'm sure you have something similar across the way.

(sorry if it doesn't paste as link. Can't seem to get it to do that)

Happy New Year!
