Andy I run a low pressure pump from the tank to the 1ltr swirl pot and then a high pressure pump up to the fuel rail. I would run as much rigid pipe as possible as sometimes rubber pipe can get sucked flat
I also have an inertia switch in the wiring for safety reasons.
Picture attached during installation. (Red pump is low pressure)

For information we do a 7 gallon aluminium EFI tank with a sump. This acts in the same way as an external swirl pot, but does not require a lifter pump, filter or swirl pump, can run a std efi filter and high pressure pump. The sender unit is a different type to the original and will require a trimming pot to adjust for accuracy. Will try and find a photo.

Jonathon, what pump set-up do you suggest? Do you have a price?

M Crossley

Mark, need to check prices as we can supply 6,7 or 8 gallon tanks, will do this tomorrow. We use Sytec or Walbro EFI pumps which are about the £90 mark but it depends on type of tails and size. We normally run a 10mm id pipe to the EFI filter then 8mm to the pump and rail. Just fitted these to a 200bhp Zetec in a Midget so will take pics tomorrow.

Mine's set up very similar to Dave's but all under the car above and in front of the axle on the driver's side.

Rob - thats where mine is going (roughly same place as orig SU pump). Every time I look though it looks tight....do you have any pics ?
Dean Smith ('73 RWA)

Hi Dave. It is tight. Mine uses the original tank pipe, via a prefilter and LP square facet and another filter to the swirl pot. The filter and facet live at the very top of the wheel arch and the pot and HP pump live behind the heel board.

And from below

You can just see the facet lower left, filter in the middle at the top, return to the tank going up through the rear bulkhead into the filler tank.

Since those pics I've fitted a skid plate type thing under the pipes to protect it against rocks and stones and stuff.

Thanks Richard ;-)

Oops :( sorry!

Mines all in the boot over o/s wheelarch, apart from the filter thats underneath on the heel board.
