MG Midget and Sprite Technical - fulcrum pin

Chaps..anyone have one of these to hand? If so I'd like to know the length and width of the slot...I want to make a tool to remove one [yes..I know..but I am ever optimistic] as none of my screwdrivers would bridge the hole in the centre.
many thanks, as ever!

I will measure later. Do a google search for DRAG LINK SOCKET. It is like a giant screwdriver.

I used a large diameter bolt, cut short, and then ground the stub of the bolt shank down to fit into the fulcrum bolt slot. It means l can turn it with a spanner, ratchet socket or brace and get enough force in it to unscrew.

Guy..I have an old file that I will grind to fit..just need to know the size...
Thanks to our transatlantic friend...

Sorry David, not heeding the question!

Just measured two. 12mm wide but one slot is 1.72mm and on the other it is 2.86mm !
I think the narrow one is maybe a newer version - it's one of those with a sort of coppery coloured finish.
Won't a file be too brittle for this purpose?

David,

No impact wrench? Mine came wide a suitably sized driver bit for the job and being hollow ground it is less likely to cam out compared to a taper ground screwdriver.

Gents..thanks for helpful comments, your time is appreciated! Been working on this car this afternoon...and the cotter and fulcrum pin came out sweet as a nut...helped by the shed loads of grease that had been regularly pumped in! This has revealed an ovality in the bottom of the king pin and wear in the trunnion bushes .... all of which meant that the entire suspension unit is now on my bench awaiting further inspection/dismantling....one thing definitely leads to another....
