MG Midget and Sprite Technical - maniflow exhaust ceramic coating

On the recomendation of many people on this forum i have ordered a maniflow manifold for my 1500 midge.
Has anyone any experience of the DIY ceramic exhaust coating supplied by 'racestuff' or by anyone else for thatmatter. I am hoping to lower engine bay temperatures, as claimed by the manufacturers and slso protect the mild steel manifold

Won't coating a manifold cause it to run hotter?

Then again, a ceramic coating may work differently than a wrap. Jaguar must have had a reason to use it.

have a look in the Archives, I'm sure Peter Burgess put it wouldn't do your head any favours

out of interest , what did the maniflow manifold cost you ?

Looking to get one myself

Thanks all your comments.. firstly, re the possible downside..i am not sure, in the states it would seems that coating headers is very common with no probs. I think the thread by burgess suggests the heat does not leave the head however with the vast improvement of the flowed manifold [in the case of the 1500] i am hoping it wont be a problem.
Re prices, check on maniflows website there a different types. I have the one that connects direct to the standard 2 box system. His prices are on hte website and he will give discount to club members
Her is not the cheapest but if you look at the cheaper alternatives, i think it is a case of you get what you pay for

have the inside of the header coated as well, a good coater will know how to do that

there is no downside to ceramic coating tubular headers, except for the $100 (or so) cost, but you get the best heat reduction under the hood by coating the inside too

the stuff that causes trouble is the fabric wrap, as that traps moisture (on a road car) and causes headers to rust quickly

Hi norm
here in uk it costs in excess of 140 gbp to paint outside ONLY !!!! I am buying some paint as described in my opening message to do the outside myself. The company supplying the paint suggest a coat of sorts to the inside using a pull through with a pad attatched so i will try that

Reading the racestuff website, are you going for the black or chrome finish?
I note they only claim it lowers engine bay temp by "...up to 10%" - hardly seems worthwhile.
