MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Midget front suspension sound isolation

I've recently finished assembling the front suspension and one thing I noticed is there is no isolation to road noise on the front springs. The inner wishbones are isolated by rubber bushes, the kingpin top also has a rubber bush but there is nothing to stop road noise getting to the body through the spring.

Is there any mileage (if you pardon the pun) in isolating either the top or bottom of the spring with a hard rubber ring that I have seen on more modern cars?

Just a thought.

If you can hear anything apart from wind noise then you are not going fast enough. The noises you should worry about are suspension creaks and groans from the bushes if poly has been fitted and not lubed properly.

the way the Spridget front suspension is designed means the springs are never fully unloaded, even on full droop, so can't rattle or move about - hence no need for isolation/rubber bits.

Ive greased(copper- or bearinggrease) the top and bottom of the spring to prevent possible squeling between spring and wishbone/body.
Dont know if its actualy was needed but did it as a preventive.

It's not rattling of the spring tha I'm considering because that is always under compression. But any road noise getting into the lower wishbone is isolated by the inner bushes. Any road noise getting up the kingpin is isolated by a bush. However there is no isolation for noise from the lower wishbone which can get into the chassis via the spring.

Or as suggested. I shouldn't worry about it, just go faster.

You also have a solidly-mounted steering rack.

Better use helium to reduce unsprung weight
