MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Mystery Frogeye inlet manifold

Hi

Can anyone please identify the manufacturer of this period aftermarket Frogeye Sprite twin 1 1/8 inch SU inlet manifold? No maker's name or casting numbers. Speedwell, DHMC, Alexander or what?

Cheers
Mike

Possibly Derrington? They were a tuning company in Kingston London although they usually have their name on it.

Over the years there have been so many tuning firms from the well known that Bob mentions to the quite unknown. I have a Paddy Gaston inlet manifold.
Just before Christmas I was able to purchase a Nerus manifold. It is for a mini so will have to be modified to fit my Frogeye.
Nerus were a subsidiary of the Rother Iron Works at Rye, in Sussex. Quite well known in period. Through the works manager they had links to Weslake (also at Rye) and H.W.M the race car manufacturer.
A while back I obtained an Arden combined inlet and exhaust manifold, now adapted as a free standing workshop paper towel stand, but at that time I could not identify it. I went to the great source of information Mk1-performance-conversions.co.uk.
If you cannot find the info on the website contact Mark Forster who maintains it: he may be able to assist.

Thanks Alan

What an interesting site! Having had a quick look through it looks quite like a Mangoletsi manifold for tuning A40's Minor's Mini's etc.

I wonder if I can find a Nerus rocker box cover to match the inlet manifold?

Anyone remember the Mangoletsi Manifold Modifier? A little device to make your car more economical.

Want to make your car more economical (and increase performance, and, and, and...)? Try the Mark III H2O Bomb (see the advertisement from the October 1955 issue of Practical Motorist).

Love a bit of thread drift :-)
