MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Noisy Duplex timing chain

Starting up my rebuilt 1275 fitted with new adjustable duplex gears and chain its a bit noisy.
Fitted a new A+ timing chain tensioner that I didn't have on it before. Its sounds a bit winey. Its definitely coming from the timing chain cover area and just to be sure run it without fan belt.
Anybody else found increased noise when a tensioner is fitted and is it normal?

Anybody got any comments?

I thought only the simplex chains had tensioners?

Rob your correct, but during the rebuild I thought I would go belts and braces so added one. Was this a mistake?

Not sure as I've never done it, but I'm wondering if the foot of the tensioner is wide enough for a duplex?

I've read elsewhere, that adding a tensioner to a duplex not only causes noise, but wears out the tensioner pad prematurely.

I think the tensioner only sits on the centre of the duplex chain so only has one contact point. I've never fitted one to a Midget but have put duplex chains on A plus engines with the standard tensioner with no problems. Could it be too tight?

And some other results from a google search on minis and duplex chains with a tensioner.
