MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Painting radiator

I am going to paint my Sprite radiator, just top, bottom and sides - not the core.
Have previously used Eastwood radiator paint from Frost but not too impressed as it seems to deteriate with time.
Thinking of using engine enamel, anyone any experience of this or any other suggestions.
Thanks.

Someone on the MGB BBS used Plastikote BBQ paint and the photos looked very good.

I like the BBQ paint idea. There is also a product called PJ1 which is heat curing paint intended for motorcycle exhausts. Nice thing is comes in a rattle can and is easy to use.
I used it on the radiator for my Dad's generator and to my sure knowledge it lasted 20 years in a damp shed.

I used rattle can stove paint on my header as I happened to have a can handy. It has a fairly matt finish with a slight satin sheen. Not been on long enough to assess durability properly but so it seems OK so far after six months.

I'd be tempted to use Tractol 'agricultural' enamel in black (1 litre tin, brush on) available from agricultural suppliers/machinery dealers as well as online. See:
http://www.smithandallan.com/products/vintage-paint/1568-tractol-329-formerly-be27-single-pack-machinery-enamel-all-colours/

(Also see:

http://coachpainting.info/tekaloid.html which also has useful info on painting with enamel).

Useful stuff to have in the garage or shed, particularly if you start welding things up, or painting metal gates or fittings.

Hi, I'm looking to do this too and have access to VHT black paint for exhausts.

Any reasons why this may not be suitable?

Thanks
