MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Panhard bolt - ARP s/s
On my car a bolt (4 inch underhead) fastens the Panhard rod to the suspension through a thick walled steel tube that's welded to the damper bracket. Recently I decided to replace that bolt with an ARP stainless steel bolt which despite being made in stainless less is stronger than the grade S bolt it replaced. However, I needed one bolt, I want to keep one as a spare but I had buy a pack of 5. The cost was a fraction over US$9 a bolt! So if anyone wants to buy a bolt from me at whatever US$9 works out at + post and packing, let me know.

Oops - I just assumed everyone's rod used the same bolt as mine! Half inch UNF.

I dont know peter... with your car learning to fly, is there a book out there with those type of specs mentioned....hahaha perhaps theres a new book yet to be publisbed that talks about how to make a.midget fly prop

Prop: 1. It's not my car 2. It's happy when it is flying 3. Not all panhard rods came from the same manufacturer, infact I would dare say most were cobbled together in garages across the country. 4. your right foot and two testicles should be enough to get a midget to fly, no need for more books

It's the landing part that puzzles me ;)

Is Anthony Cutler still in the building? Anthony I see you 'made a panhard rod in a few hours' a couple of years ago as reported on another BBS. Any chance of the design specs or was it all on a fag packet? To help you remember Prop commented as well and you did it while paint was drying during a respray.

I have just taken my Panhard rod off after upgrading to a RTL. I bought it around 7 years ago. It was complete, except for the bracket which fits it to the driver's side spring. I made a temporary bracket from flat bar.as it worked, I left it on! It will probably be going on ebay shortly.

The Speedwell, Peter May and Frontline Panhard rod kits all look very similiar. I've never seen a homemade Panhard rod kit on a Sprite/Midget but would be interested to see photos of one.
