MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Rasping noise

Now that I've fitted the new exhaust, I've noted that here is a rasping noise as I decelerate through 2500 revs. On closer inspection I've realised that it is vibration transmitting through the heat shield. Any thoughts on what could be causing the engine to vibrate at these revs?
Pete Ottewell

Do you have the two support brackets fitted at the bottom corners of the heat shield?
Dave O'Neill 2

Good point Dave I've never fitted them, but why has it developed now and what's the cause.
Pete Ottewell

I remember why I didn't fit them, they were NLA. I just found some on the tinternet at Leacy Classics, they want £18 for the pair with shipping. Quite a lot of money for a couple of bent bits of steel.
Pete Ottewell

Some women make that noise too. Try slowing down. lol.
Lawrence Slater

Pete I should be able to find a pair of those brackets for you, email mgsmithy A T yahoo dotcodotuk if wanted,
David Smith

Dave that's really kind, I'll will e-mail you

Received with thanks Dave!

Brackets fitted, noise gone, now onto the next rattle. Thanks again Dave.
