MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Rear wheel bearing

Hi All, I am about to change the rear wheel bearing on my Frogeye. I have checked the archive and cannot find out whether the bearings have a right way round. The bearing have numbers on one side only. Haynes is of no use. Does it matter which way round the bearing go in? Thanks. Simon

Simon,

The rear wheel bearings are a standard deep groove ball bearing so it doesn't matter which way round they go.

Hi Dave,

Thanks. That was what I thought but I was having a crisis of confidence. I dont know whether you remember me , but I was a friend of Chris Norris.

Simon,

Yes I remember you, it has been awhile though. Is this a road car or are you still racing.

Hi Guys, Yes still racing. I am racing my Sebring Sprite with the CSCC swinging 60s and rebuilding my ex turbo race car. Thanks for your help and hope to see you at a circuit some time. Simon
