MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Remote clutch bleed

The subject of a remote bleed for the clutch often crops up. I am making this display, with roller release, for a show display and thought it might assist someone.
I dont know why the picture has turned but the detail can still be seen.
The set up can use the brake hose from the rear of a Spridget, hoses such as Goodridge or Aeroquip, or plain old copper or cunifer brake tube.

What is the black piece on the top of the line? Where would you get that?

The black piece is a two way connector that is attached to a bracket off the engine. It is self made - turned on a lathe then welded to a bracket that attaches to the top two bell-housing bolts.
A substitute can be fabricated with a three way brake union as used at the rear of a Spridget which conveniently has a fixing hole where a bolt attaches it to the rear axle. The 3rd union can be blanked with a 3/8 unf bolt cut to length. Use a copper washer to seal.
If an elongated L shaped bracket is made the three way brake union can be attached with 1/4 unf nut and bolt.
Attached is a picture that shows it in more detail.

Its fairly similar to mine - just a lot neater!
Steve the black bit on Alan's that he made on the lathe is made as a female : female adapter, but they are available as standard item, - though without the bracket.

The lines on mine disappear inside the bellhousing as I have a DIY concentric slave set up on mine.

Incidentally Alan, does yours bleed semi-automatically? I am not sure why but to bleed mine I just need to slacken the bleed nipple and wait for a few seconds. No pedal pumping or easibleeds - it just drives the fluid through the whole system from the M/C by gravity. I don't know if this is because of the concentric slave that I have, or if its to do with the position of the bleed pipe. If the latter, then I don't see why yours wouldn't do the same?

Neat bit of plumbing.
Self bleeding on my Sebring with seperate Masters but I havent noticed this phenomenon on the twin cylinder Frogeye?

Maybe that's it then, - this auto-bleed only works when coupled with a separate M/Cyl. Mine is on my '71 Sprite.

But its certainly easier than some of the horror experiences some have of bleeding a standard clutch. That said, I never found it that difficult on mine as long as I was methodical about it.

Mine used to 'self-bleed' even when I used the twin cylinder brake-brick and still did when I fitted separate master cylinders which I put down, as I think Guy does, to the lucky fact that it had an easy high exit point

My present concentric doesn't need a separate remote bleeder 'cos it bleeds with a spanner off the long reach Ford Granada concentric slave bleed nipple (it's about four inches long and sits just in the hole in the bell housing I cut out) :)
