MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Rostyle wheel nut seat

Can anyone tell me for sure whether Rostyle wheels have a radiused nut seat or a 60 degree taper seat?

I have fitted longer studs and need new nuts. I want to be sure I purchase the correct type.

Thanks in advance.

Really, you don't remember that long thread, perhaps you missed it.

To save me confusing things just have this as just one example from one supplier as it's the best image I can find quickly -

I must have missed that one. To the archives... where is hat, whip and my lantern? :-)

(ETA: you needn't gather your equipment and go as I've just been and returned to tell what I found.)

I can't remember or quickly find the angle (60 sounds right but never rely on my memory).

They're conical (tapered).

The standard, chromed, wheel nuts for Rostyles are part number AHA8785.

Below is a photo (taken from the long thread) of a MGOC Spares W650A (AHA8785SS - s/s without logo) nut taken off my car (open end on left).

Thanks Nigel. 60 degree it is! That is what I have now, but wanted to check that was correct as I had a vague recollection of it being brought up at some point.

I was looking for some open ended ones as I have fitted longer studs (to satisfy an MSA regulation) and I am little wary that the closed end nuts would bottom out before engaging properly.

Arrgh, not that hoary old chestnut again. Basically, Rostyles they may well bottom out if you have fitted longer studs. See how many turns it takes to bottom out on a free bolt, then try on the wheel stud. Compare and contrast.

I had a similar issue previously as I had Mililite replicas fitetd - for which the original studs were (IMHO) not long enough to ensure satisfactory purchase of the nuts. I swapped out the studs, but as the Minilites were a thicker profile, the nuts were fine.
