MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Sticking weights ro alloy wheels

A bit of a trivial question this, but what's the best way to stick the balancing weights onto a Minilite wheel. Mine just fell off (fortunately on the garage floor). I can see where they should go back but the sticky on the rubber backing is no longer sticky. I don't want to stick them so permanently that they cause damage when removed next time I get some tyres but I want them to stay on. Any recommendations? I was wondering about UHU or Araldite!

I met a car guy this year and he suggested 100 % silicone chaulking... not the laytex stuff

I think the trick is making sure the wheel surface is extremely clean

An issue related to this: when my Minilite repros were balanced, the weights were put on the inside which offers a nice wide space. However, I discovered that on the front wheels they caught the track rod ends which are very close to the rim. Fortunately, have put the wheels on, I spun them over just to check all was ok... and they stopped dead!

I've put balance beads inside my tyres and will report back when I get a chance to test the car - I'm moving workshop next month and have been in limbo for 2 months already so loads of delays.

As Prop mentioned, the wheels should be cleaned with meths, alcohol, or similar before sticking the weights on.

Also, as per Graeme, they need to be inboard of where the TREs are.

Racers also tend to put tank tape over them, just in case!

I wouldn't know what to recommend to stick them back on.

I just bought some Bostic clear glue. Spread a thin film on wheel and weights and left 10 minutes as per instructions. Seems to work and not too aggressive so should be fairly easy to remove.
