MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Williiams & Pritchard Sebring GT2

Hi,

a few days ago i got a body kit for my sprite. the dealer thougt it was an ashley and told me so on the phone. as i recieved it, i had doubts it is an ashley. the next day i took a closer look and compared it to pictures in the internet. the kit (roof, with lid and bonnet) is a williams and pritchard sebring gt 2 kit. it has something to do on it. but it is in a good shape. now i would like to get as much information about it as possible. Who can help?

I'd contact Martin Ingall at Sebringsprite.com and Im sure he'll post up a little thing on the news feed asking for help.

Some pictures would be great! sounds really interesting

Tim Saunders (Mothy) is your man for this - a sometime contributor on these boards.
He used to run the website www.williamsandpritchardregister.co.uk/ , but as you can see if you visit it he had a few issues beyond his control.
Mick - still wiring!!

The two photographs are scans from an original W&P brochure labelled Sebring G.T. Series 11. The look of the bonnet is totally different from the original Sebring fibreglass bonnet from W&P as the original had no blister along the centre line of the bonnet and it took a standard Mk1 grill.
There is no date on the brochure although the fact that it refers to Sprite MK 4 ties it down a little.

Tim is your man, or Andrew Chaffey who also posts here. They may be able to fill in more detail of the Archer body panels which I believe were moulded from W&P units. I believe the original masters from W&P were destroyed in a fire after being sold on in the early seventies.

What information are you looking for?

As Graeme mentioned, the moulds were sold to Fibresports, but were destroyed.

I had two bonnets and a hardtop, which Marc Dols bought and fitted to his racer.

By the way, the "W" is Williams - Charlie Williams of W&P was my dad.
