MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Wishbones

Does anyone know the difference between the Premier and Standard wishbones that Barry King does and are they worth paying extra for them.

His website explains the improvements. and the difference is so small I would have thought Improved every time.

and hurry, as I understand it, they are shutting down and selling off remaining stock

A sad, sad time for all of us, considering all that they did, to see to it that the very best wishbones and fulcrum pins were made.

I truly wish that someone (MGOC? BMH?) would step up and buy their equipment and keep their great work going, for future generations.

Norm,

I fear this is just the first of such sad times to come over the next few years...its hard to imagine our little cottage industry of all things spridget lasting into infinity

The good news is with a set of BK bones at my age of pushing 50 and my 71 :-) still having orginals..ill be like 108 before ill need new bones agian

With the miles that your car is doing, I CAN see your wishbones lasting into infinity, as long as they have a good coat of paint! ;o)

I heard they are stopping production, so I've bought a pair of the premier ones - they look really good.

Do understand they are mig welded, so I don't think they can be reconditioned if they wear out, but they should last longer.

If you are not sure, ring Barry - real nice bloke who isn't a salesman, just answers whatever questions you have.

I'd love to buy the business from him, it's been on the market for years. Sadly, I doubt I'd ever be able to afford it…

I think Heritage should take it on…

2 weeks ago I bought the last but one pair of premier wishbones, so maybe now too late. Thought after I had bought them will a standard fulcrum pin fit in the future if the revised ones are no longer available?

Mark,

It wont cost much to send barry an email to see whats doable

If you offered him a cup of tea, a donut, and $10... thats considerably more then he is currently getting currently by placing the entire business in the trash can, and setting it by the curb for the trash man.
