MG MG Y Type - Anti Sway Bar

It would be greatly appreceated if someone with a 53 YB could provide a sketch with dimensions for the anti sway bar. Diameter, length between mounting holes, mounting hole position, etc. I'm getting a comedy of errors like a 37 Packard sway bar.

Ray,
If you want to come down to Dartmouth you can take measurements from my YB 1466.

Ray,

If you do, take your Y and get some photos for the website!

I have also recently acquired some lower front suspension pans that have additional stuff on them for fitting the A/R bar to i am guessing. This might save you having to mess with modifying ones that you have.

Scott/Paul, Thanks for the quick reply you guys are major team players here are you guys brothers ?
Scott, thanks for the offer I will do that just have to make the arrangements with you on that. Is your Y a 53 ?

Paul, I'll be at a local meet in Lincoln Ma Sunday and I'll send some pics from that. On the Y I have off each lower pan front what looks like a bolt with rubber bushings and nut that point up about 2 1/2" long. I beleave that's for the sway bar ends because they do not seem to go anywhere else. Other than that no other sway brackets but I'd like to deal with you on any brackets you may have for sale.

Ray,
I contacted you several years ago when I saw your YB in the WantAdvertiser, and introduced you to the Y Register.
Now, I own YB 1466 which is very close to your YB 1464.
Mine is an all original, 44,000 mi. one-owner car that I got in London.
I didn't have any brothers, so Paul adopted me.
I look forward to meeting you and have you examine my car. I'd drive it to you, but I'm stil working with the RMV to get a title.

Amen to that Scott! It is a strange destiny that we both were into Ys and we both have the same last name. Scott is a great guy and I am privileged to know him and share a common interest in actually many things with Scott.

I had forgotten that your cars are nearly "next of line" (kind of like next of kin only for cars on a production line) so if you can get them together that would be a fun deal.

Sadly I dont have any other brackets but if you look on Interesting Y's under Unique features in production Ys you will be able to see how Steve Randle's YA had an anti-roll bar fitted to the front spring pans. Not having a YB I am not sure if that is how they did the YB or not.

Good luck,

Paul

NTG Services lists the bushings for the YB anti-roll bar.

Scott/Paul,

Thanks for all the help. Scott, Will be getting in touch soon.
Paul, Sorry the Sunday meet was pretty much a wash out for me.
Will work on getting you some pic's.

Again, Thanks,
