MG MG Y Type - Clutch Cable & rod linkage connection
| I forgot to take pictures before removing the clutch rod & cable link connection. The re-bored engine + gearbox are now installed but I cannot recall how the links are fitted. I have a bracket (picture attached) which fits on the side of the engine, but again cannot recall what it is for. I would appreciate some advice. If anyone has a picture from under the car on the installed linkage, it would be much appreciated.

It's to hold back the cable and is bolted against the sump. See picture.

| Do you need a photo of the whole ensemble fitted together on an engine? Paul |

| Hi Paul & Willem Many thanks for your quick response. The pictures attached by Willem proved most helpful and I have now completed the linkage system. I need to now finish off all the ancillaries including oil pump connections etc before starting the engine and taking the YT on the road again. I never realised how much effort and time is required to remove and re-assemble the Y type engine. Never had so many unique problems even with a Mini or Austin 1100 years ago!! Your help is much appreciated. Best wishes Anil |

| Anil Make sure you have the correct pedal free play on the clutch pedal. See the Workshop Manual. Paul |
