MG MG Y Type - Coach key stowage

Just working on trim panels, can anyone let me have a close up photo of the coach key stowage 'loop' which is attached to the NS footwell trim panel. My original panels were missing.
I have the pic in LTBYs but I need a bit more detail, for example...is the rexine folded over top and bottom or is it double thickness what sort of rivets attach it etc.
Thanks
Rob

I think I have one of these somewhere in my garage - if I can find it you are welcome to it. Will e mail off line.

Hi Rob

Sounds like Dave has you covered. I cannot totally recall how it is done, but I had an old one too that I was able to sit and study and then using a piece of paper was able to play until I got all the Origami correct. Then I moved onto the real material.

It is then pinned to the kick panel with 2 burficated rivets.

Worth the trial and error with the paper one first though!

Maybe you will be good enough to send us some origami notes for the Parts page when you get it done as I am not about to take mine apart on my YA but would like to make ones for my YTs.

Thanks

G'day Rob

Here's a shot of the stowage loop on my Y, similar to Rob Snells

The original "Pennant" coach keys are becoming rare now, so mine is now stored inside the glove box (in an original loop on the side - not sliding around), in case they disappear while the car is on show.

The YT one lives in my pocket or locked in the boot !.

I still have the original loops on the kick panels - just don't leave the key there most of the time.

Just my 2c worth !.

And here's mine, with the Pennant key. Should I lock it out of sight, too?

As far I can see all the side are folded inside and then fastened with the two rivets.

closer detail, I don't think it's double thickness
