MG MG Y Type - Correct wiper blade attachment?

Can anybody please mail me some detailed photos of how the wiperblade is correctly attached to the end of the wiper arm?

If you please, with and without the rubber bits that I think are part of the assembly (and missing on my wipers).

It's not that I intend to use the wipers but the blades keep threatening to fall off...

We sell the proper rubber wiper peg rubbers on Regalia. They simply pull through from the top of the hole. I will send you a photo tonight when I get home and you should get it tomorrow probably.

What a wonderful BBS this is!

Ted,

Thank you very much for your lightningly quick response and very clear pictures.

I now know that my wiperblades are not the correct items they don't have a hole to pull the rubber through.....

Paul, Do you also sell wiperblades? I'll look later, must do the dishes now!
Willem van der Veer

Hi Willem,

We dont. Best bet - Moss or NTG.

Since Ted beat me to it - thanks Ted, I wont bother to send you the photos.

Hi guys:

I have the same question, since the rubber pegs popped off one of my wiper blades the other day. Can you send me the same pics that you sent to Willem?

Thanks
Mark Weissman

Pictures sent Mark.

Proper pegs are available from Regalia page at www.mgytypes.org.

I just ordered new blades from NTG. What I got does not match what is currently on the car. Can someone send me a photo of the proper setup? What I got has a metal hoop on it. What came off the car is a metal blade that slides into the end of the arm and is held in place by a cotter pin.

I fell victim to the same problem a few years ago. Fortunately I had kept the old blades and fittings and when I found some at an autojumble refitted the correct ones and threw the "other rubbish" in the trash - with glee!
