MG MG Y Type - Damper Repair

Hi Folks,

Does anyone know of a company in the UK which renovates dampers other than Stevesons.

Try the Graham Brown but like Stevesons they had a long waiting time when I tried a year back. I used NTG who got them done quite quickly at a similar price.

You could try 'Demon Tweeks' now in Wrexham who did mine years ago....they used to be in Cheshire (Tattenhall?) but have moved. It's worth a try to see if they will still do them. It might also be worth contacting 'Revs Suspension' (google it).

I have just had mine overhauled at Stevesons,he appears to have done a good job and his turn round time was 6 weeks. I have not yet fitted them to my YA as I am still have the body of the chassis.

I had my TD Shock absorbers overhauled at Vintage and classic shock absorbers 3 years ago, he did a good job but he promised me a turnaround in 12 weeks ,after several phone calls I did eventually get them back after 5 1/2 months putting back my restoration over 2 months.

Stevson motors hyper link does not want to work when try add here or from IMGYR but google and you will get to work. But to add they did good job on my shocks and from memory was fairly quick turnaround and collected in person to save the post going astray.
