MG MG Y Type - front back plates on yb

can any one tell me if the small hole in the centre of the plate faces the front or rear of the car when fitted as there is a small difference in the plate.they are marked left and right but not top or bottom thanks.

Can you post a picture? In the workshop manual there's no clue for a hole, maybe a picture would help.

Warning, it is possible to fit YB front brakes to end up with Twin Trailing Shoes! Not very efficient brakes. A quick check that the brake cylinders are liftine the Leading Edge of the shoe is all that is required.

thanks but we know about the break shoes and cylinder problem , but the rear plates can be fitted ether way
and there is only one way as there is a difference.even
the wolseley 4/44 manual dose not show this as both cars have the same breaking .

I imagine the hole covers the mating face of the hub? Unless there is a marking on the hub I wouldn't worry too much.

In some parts there are smaller holes for the hooks to hang on when they are sprayed.
