MG MG Y Type - Front Chassic Clip

'Let their be Ys' indicates the wires going to the fog and spot / driving lights run along the top of the bottom of the front chassis horn and are attached to the chassis by 2 clips. My YT has been missing these clips since I purchased the car.

Does anyone have a photo of them, especially where it clips over the wiring, and a source for them, preferably in Australia.

thanks Stuart

Just use Zip Ties, they are the modern equivalent and unless you run someone over no one will ever know!
Paul Barrow

Paul, I have used zip ties to tie the wiring harness to the steering rack and P clips to hold the harness in position below the right hand bonnet clips, as per diagram in LTBYs.

What I am after are clips (or shape thereof) to hold the driving light wire on the front chassis horn.
Attached is a photo of Tony's YT showing the horn and clip (circled) on chassis horn.

Stuart Duncan

Stuart I have a couple of those chassis clips at home; away in Cooktown til Monday, then will send a couple of close up piccies, measurements etc in case it helps.

Stuart,
The clip you want is part number CL060, Clip type F1 - loop diameter 1/4", available from Doug Pelton at From the Frame Up (www.FromTheFrameUp.com) for about $5.50USD plus shipping to Oz.

Stuart these were on Y3348 when she came to us in 1984; I would think they are original, but others might be able to confirm. Zip ties help in lots of situations, but if you have chassis clips, use them!
John.

I've seen that clip somewhere, there's a smaller version in the boot of MGB's holding the wiring loom to the rh inner wheel tub, but that longer one--where-?
now i won't sleep thinking where----lol

Ha! These 2 were on the front chassis protuberances (is that a word?), just as Stuart described. Sleep tight Willy.
