MG MG Y Type - Front Sidelight wiring support

Hi Folks , quick question .
The front sidelight wiring exits the headlamp tube under the front wings, and loops up to the sidelight .
Is there a strip of steel bolted to the headlamp bracket which extends up under the wing and guides the wires clear of the wheel to the sidelight . I am sure there were two fitted to my YA when I stripped it but they were really rotten and disintegrated. I remember them as being perhaps 9" long and 1" wide with a rubber grommet at the top end .
Now is this real or am I imagining them . Perhaps I've seen them on another car ??
Any ideas anyone please/

Me again , just found it on LTBYs. There is a support at the sidelight end . So it wasn't totally my imagination!
Could anyone give me an idea of what sizes it is please.

Hi,

LTBY,s Fig 10.1 follows page 105, purports to be a full size drawing of this part. Does raise question for me at least as to what size was the page originally. Someone will know.
LTBY,s is a mine of info, which I usually find after the event too.

Hi again,
while I haven't been able to find explicitly a page size for LTBY's CD, I did find this...

Page size: 8.26 × 11.69 in (portrait)

in the Document properties for a pdf sample file of one page of LTBY's, in a part of the sales info for the LTBY's CD

This is A4 size, actually. But the other old books that I do have, viz The Maintenance Manual and Instruct Book(s) for the 1 and 1/4 Litre Series, are not A4, but are 21.5 x 27.9 mm 8.5 x 11 ins page size. Fairly close to Imperial Octavio. So was the original LTBY's A4 or not? But even if you know that, the white space around the text is variable too and may have ben altered during the making of the CD.

While it is good fun to know the exact correct size, I don't think anyone will notice if the part you make is 3% too small if you call it A4, (or maybe even less if you split the difference between the two page sizes.)
The CD LTBY's is to be commended in its reproduction quality. It is not a simple scan and can be zoomed up for extra detail.

G'day Sloop - if you get stuck, I'll pop an original in an envelope for you. I don't need it, as I have made up new ones out of s/steel. John.

Thanks KGM, I've found it and printed it ofF. It states full size on the drawing but as you say that all depends .Between that and the photo I can get pretty close to a real size.
However can I also thank John H for his post .No Need to post one over John but could you just post the total length and width please.
According to the drawing I've printed off, it should be 5" x 11/16" or 127mmsx 18mms . I shall be interested in seeing how close the drawing is to true.
Thank you both for getting back to me .

No problem, JB except that we're away from home (bleeping retirees) for a couple o' weeks. Paul's reminder is a good one - s/steel, Made in England, well priced. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. John.
