Let us hope that it has gone to an enthusiast and that it will not be long before we can welcome the owner and the YB to Ys on Parade on the website.

It was supposed to have been bought by MG Rover for the 'Longbridge Museum'.
The price was £4200 plus 15 percent commission

From http://www.channel4.com/4car/
The star exhibit, a 1910 Austin 18/24hp Endcliffe Tourer, reached £82,000 plus 15 percent commission. This car was bought by MG Rover, which acquired several lots from a collection that, ironically, it once owned. The Birmingham company also bought the last MG GT V8 ever made, this car reputedly a former company car of Bob Dover, now the MD of Jaguar and Land Rover, as well as a beautiful Austin Seven and an MG YB saloon. The cars will go on display at its Longbridge headquarters.

Thanks John D for the update.

On the one hand "Rock On" the MG Rover for saving the YB from either a) being scrapped, or b) being ripped off by a dealer, but on the other shame it did not go to private ownership. On balance though, I am glad that it will be preserved in good running order! Who knows, maybe Jerry Birkbeck will persuade MG Rover to enter it on the Y Type Spring Run 2004 and we will see it back on the road again!! (Jerry - you'd better write them now and ask them to go on your mailing list!) and I will also write to John Towers and ask him to register it with us and enter it onto Ys on Parade.
