MG MG Y Type - Horn Button Assembly

Hello Again ladies gentlemen,

At this time, I am looking for a horn button assembly for my 1948 YT. I would prefer it to be new old stock if possible. Is this horn button assembly the same as in other MG's of the era? Same as used in a TC, TD , or TF? This might make it easier to locate one. It will be mounted on my original steering wheel.
I would appreciate hearing if anyone has a source for one. NTG and Moss do not have them.

Steve, The horn button assembly seems to be unique to the Y series car. I am sure that they would be very har to source.

I do remember a spare steering wheel from a YT that was possibly purchased with a bunch of MG/TD stuff by an aquaintance of mine.

Give me a few days to check on it.

Note: I recently had a communication from a friend that saw your car at a Car Show before Christmas in Florida,. He sent me a picture. Nice car.

Yt horn button was the same as the Morris Minor MM series both different to saloon horn button which operates semaphores.

Failed to mention series 2 MM Minor earlier had M centre.

Thank you for the compliment on my YT. I look forward to hearing from you on the Horn assembly source.

I have several spare YT secondhand horn buttons, but I am in Australia.

Mr Slattery,

They seem to be hard to get. I would be willing to pa you a fair price and shipping costs.

I am looking for a whole properly operating assembly, not just the button.

I would appreciate seeing a picture of the assembly you have.

You may send directly to my email at steveve5@yahoo.com.

The Y and YB all had a clockwork turn signal mechanism Stephen, as did Y.T EX(U). All other YTs (including EXR) had a simple push button. You should be good with something from Tony. I only have some of the full clockwork turn signal types here in Washington.

Steve,

I checked and no go... the centers were all TD, not YT.

Mr. Slattery is the way to go. Last time I shipped something to Australia, shipping was not that bad a price.... considering.
