MG MG Y Type - Is it a Y?

A photo on the Francis Frith website - one of the front wings (near side)seems damaged but is it a Y ?

Looks to me that the far car in the 1955 picture is a Flying Standard 12 and the near one is a Rover, The Standard could give the Y type a good run for its money. Bryan

Thanks for the opinion - I tend to look through old photos from the 50s on the Frith website (search by town/city)to see if I can spot any Y types in street scenes - after a while you think you spot one and its good to get a second opinion. I did find one in a 1955 photo of Bala in N. Wales.

Interesting that you found a Y type in a Bala picture. Back in the 60s or 70s the then organiser of the Llangollen International eisteddfod Festival [his name escapes me] used to dash around Wales in his Y type sorting problems out. So it could be said that his old Y helped to bring something very special to that corner of Wales. Bryan

Yes Y Bala is a lovely spot - my Brother and Sister in law live about 25 miles further down the road and you really know you are in Welsh Wales as you drive down Stryd Fawr as you pass through. Always worth finding some excuse to stop and shop in the great little shops too.
