MG MG Y Type - Jackall jacks wanted

Hi all, I'm after two jacks for my SA Tickford rear. The Y type look the same but I could be wrong. My front ones are 30cm or 12" high. Hopefully someone in Oz may have them.

Hello Don, I can help you out with a pair of rams from a Y-Type. The front and rear rams on a Y-Type are different lengths - I will measure them.

How far from the ground is the mounting point for the rear rams on a SA ?.

Pre-War & Y-Type rams are visually different though - the PW rams have the Smiths Logo on the bottom of the foot (presumably for grip ?), while the Y-Type have a plain finish. But who would see the bottom of the foot anyway ?.

The Jackall pumps are very different.

Cheers

Thanks Tony, the rear mounting point is about 33cm at the bottom and 39cm at the top. I say 'about' as the car has no rear bodywork on at the moment. I'm also after the outer part of one bracket, the part that holds the jack onto the mounting. I've looked on the Y Register site at the Jackall Drawings, mine would appear to be the longer ones. I have attached a photo of the pump, a little dirty though.

Prewar also used GREEN Jackall fluid, post war RED. Dont know if there are interactions between seals and fluids??

Here is a selection of Jackall Rams.

The eight on the left are Pre-War Rams, while the four on the right are Y-Type. The last two on the right are Y-Type rears - shorter than the fronts.

You can see the relative lengths by the tape measure.

Thanks for the photos Tony, I have asked an SA owner to measure his rams, but I think the long ones on the left would be correct.
I have also attached a photo of the mounting and the one clamp I have.
You can email me if you prefer.

Hi Don,
It appears the clamp system on the rear of the SA is similar to the front on the Y-Type, so I can help with a clamp as well.

I will email you.

Cheers
