I have no financial interest in either item, both sellers are known to me and are reputable though. This is a good chance to get a full hard copy of the seminal book on MG Y Types.

One is at £75 I believe the other at £225 is frankly ridiculous! It will be interesting to see whether it sells!

The more expensive one is open to offers so the opportunistic buyer can send an offer in to the vendor. This seller is a commercial seller whereas the £75 one is a private sale. Last time one came up for sale on eBay from a private seller it went for close to £200 I seem to recall. So it is all a question of how much does a buyer want an item ... like any other commercial transaction in the free world. The value will be determined by the willingness of a seller to sell and the number and relative requirement of buyers in respect to the number of any item in supply. One man's reasonable is another man's cheap is another man's over priced. If you only paid £40 for one of the original prints, anything else may seem high. On the other hand, how many have you seen recently on the open market? So it is reasonable that they will now change hands for anything from twice the original price to any thing greater. Frankly, given the wealth of knowledge and research that Dave lawrence put into the book and the number of hours he spent on the project, what he got out of the original £40 sell price was a pittance. I would have willing paid £100 for the book back in the day: it is worth every red cent of that!

A quick scan of eBay for John Lawson's book will show offer prices from £15 opening to £45 for a Buy It Now price (BTW the MG Car Club Register Shop does not list a price http://www.mgccyregister.co.uk/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=59_60&product_id=51) but I think they used to be at £25 or so, so given the fact that Let there be Ys is so much a more informative book ... what is one worth?

When Dave Lawrence was doing research for LTBY he corresponded with my car's previous owner ,Miles Harris ,and all those to and fro letters requesting bits of information were given to me by Miles .
So as well as a signed copy of LTBY I have some of the original research in those hand written letters.

That's really cool Ed - you are a lucky guy to have that!! You cannot put a price on that stuff.
