So be there - all you need to do is either e-mail me, fax me on 01926 418181 or write to me with an SAE to: Jerry Birkbeck 22 Campion Terrace Leamington Spa Warwickshire CV32 4SX Look forward to hearing from you. Come on you Y owners in the UK. If your car is roadworthy, contact Jerry and come and have a great day out. If you know somebody who has a Y on the road, get hold of them and make sure they know about the RUN and get their applications in. Keep up the good work, Jerry. Keith |

Thanks for the support. A few more applications arrived today [15.03.02] which makes it 35 but we need more. So as Keith says - come on you Y owners. If you have a running Y then bring it along and use that free tax and low insurance. Dont keep the car locked up in the garage - they were built to drive! Jerry |

SPRING RUN UPDATE APRIL 14TH 2002 As of today {March 31) 37 Y's are signed up for the event. This includes 3 YT's. Please do let us try and reach the magical 50. Even if you are unwilling to do the run your attendance from 10.30 onwards at Broughton Castle would be warmly welcomed. Even trailer driven rebuilds all count - I have no shame! I look forward to seeing you there. Jerry Birkbeck |

>>Also, a very special announcement will be made at this event - be there to hear it first! So it is true that MG/Rover are going to reintroduce the YB and call it the YBV8. it is understood to be an updated model of the YB in the same vain as the RV8!! Have a good run, and enjoy April!!! |

People who read any credence into the note by Mr. Kimber should also note the date of its listing. Regards from sunny Sydney..... Alf |

I have yet to read any positive posting by this Mr Kimber - who is a disgrace to himself, this website, and the marque. Mr Kimber - if you do not have anything worth saying - keep it to yourself. Most people have the courage of their convictions and are not ashamed to put their real name to their comments rather than hide behind a psudoname and discredit a worthy one at that. Paul Barrow |

Paul old chappie, if you I do feel very, very sorry for you. It seems to me that you can't take a bit of teasing. Maybe I should say something to you when I next bump in to you at the next Car Club meeting. Hopefully you have a smile on your face by then. How do you know I use a pseudonym? (I note your miss spelling of it) and have you considered I could not have the fun I do and give to others if I gave my real name? Keep cheerful |

SPRING RALLY - AN ALMOST FINAL CALL The event is ten days away. I still need more Y's please, please make an effort to get that tax free, low insurance Y out of the garage and bring her along to Broughton Castle next Sunday [14th April]. You can phone me on 01926 424053 or mobile 07855566325. Look forward to hearing from you. Jerry |

Dear Cecil Kimber, Having read your recent contributions, particularly that of April 2nd, I am a little concerned over your use of the English language. Could you please enlighten me as to the meaning of "if you I do feel very sorry for you"? Additionally, I find it ironic that someone who misspells "miss spelling", could possibly correct someone else's misspelling. May I also suggest that the use of a few commas, in the correct places, would make the meaning of your contributions more comprehensible on first reading. They are hardly worth a second attempt. |

Jerry Thank you for a brilliant day. You even stopped it from raining! Lovely location, lovely run, lovely cars and lovely people all added up to make it a fantastic day. Thank you again, Paul |
Paul Barrow |
Paul beat me by 20 minutes or so, but I want to echo all he says and add my own thanks for a very enjoyable day. The work that goes into making it run smoothly is no small thing, and it was very much appreciated. See you soon! Tim |

Jerry Birbeck; that was a pretty good day out for the three of us at the Y Spring Run 14/04/02. The cars were splendid, the location magnificent, the run fun. Slater Reynolds. |

Many, many thanks for the votes of confidence, I do enjoy organising these events and I think that of the five that I have been responsible for [the last 4 with my good friend Richard Dick], that this was probably the best.I have learnt much about organisation of such events and this was no exception. However, what it comes down to is you guys and gals who turn up and throughly enjoy the spirit of the day. If you enjoyed it then please do tell other Y owners. I know that we can well exceed 50 and I hope that this acts as a spur for others. Please do spare a thought for three YB owners who broke down on the way - Roy Astley, Keith Herkes and Michael Storey. Michael was only 3 miles from Broughton when he broke down with a coil/condensor problem. he did try phoning the castle. only to get an answerphone. i need to give out two or three different mobile numbers in the future that an unfortunate can contact. Anyhow it has not dampened his enthusiasm as he cant wait for next year. A special thanks to Lord Saye who was a tremendous hos. Finally if there are changes you would like to see made to the concept or ideas, anything,,,,, even to pulling in the extra punters then please let me know. David Pelham felt that history had beeb made in the UK to see the presence of 3 YT's in public. Those of you who know David will understand the words 'in public.!! Thanks again to all of you I look forward to seeing you over the summer! All the best Jerry |

Jerry, Sorry that Rita and I missed the start of the meeting and what was obviously an excellent run. The tour of the Castle was great and it was good to see you on such "good terms" with his Lordship. A,thank you, to you and all the others who expressed concern about our unfortunate breakdown. For those who may be interested, it was a broken bob-weight in the distributor, which in turn, jammed the shaft and sheared the gear at the bottom. Haven't fully investigated yet as to what other damage may have occured. Here's to the Y Spring Run 2003. Well done Jerry. Keith |

If you did not attend, you missed a stunning day out. I have written up the day, it might get into The Bulletin before Safety Fast though, ( the next 'Y' centre spread is Dec!!) Hope to have lots of photo's for the SF entry. Well Done Jerry & Richard. And thankyou to Lesley for the YB 'Bill Atkinson Cup'now a permanent future feature. Neil. |
