MG MG Y Type - Nice MG YA for sale - Whitley Bay Yorkshire

I was recently contacted by someone in the Yorkshire area asking about where to find a Y for sale. Having replied to the email I deleted it so I dont have your details to reply to you sadly.

However, this one is currently on eBay and may be worth looking into. I do not know the car personally, or the seller so I cannot give any further information on it but contact me by all means if you want to.

I saw this one advertised for sale recently for £6,000, which I assume is what the reserve must be on Ebay.

Andrew,
For a no longer Y-type owner you are looking at this site far too often to be healthy.
Unless you take care, you are likely to become re-infected

Michael - methinks he already is!

Thanks guys!

As I'm sure most people here will know, once you're bitten by the Y Type bug there's no known cure!

Britcar-itis is a little known but often life long illness, it is marked by the constant urge to find winding roads, drive under powered and leaky cars. Spend many many hours chasing the demons of lucus wiring, making sure the garage door is closed so that OPEC does not drill you garage floor looking for oil. Knowing that oil really does go into the carbs, positive earth is ok, and switches activate the ground not the device.

Britcar-itis can be passed from one person to the other by just being around these cars and once infected there is no know cure. A sure way to get infected is to ride in a British car, and driving one means that you are now terminal.

Britcar-itis may go dormat for many years (I was infected as a child and finally sucumbed when in my thirties).

Once Britcar-itis is found and the first British car is secured, Britcar-itis does not go into remission, it seeks to re-produce its self in the securing of other British cars.

Two important comments:
1)Andrew cannot become re-infected before he is first cured of the disease, and this hasn't happened yet.
2)There are lots of wonderful things in Yorkshire, but Whitley Bay isn't one of them. It is in England's most beautiful county, Northumberland.

When I lived in Whitley Bay it was in Tyne and Wear!
DM Gibson

Not sure if that is coastal erosion or just a UK ponchant for governmental reorganisation!

I liked Jim's diagnosis and agree with everything that has been said about not being able to be reinfectedwhen you aint cured too!!

Anyway, the car eventually went for £6k so I hope the new owner gets in touch with us too soon.

Well when I used to stay there with my Auntie Margaret it was still in Nortumberland; it's only just in Tyne and Wear now.
Tyne and Wear! You'll be telling me next that Huntingdon isn't in Huntingdonshire or that there's no such place as Cumberland.

No,not Nortumberland; Northumberland!

I last saw that car a couple of years ago. And it the time it wasn't a great example. I seem to remember it belonged to someone with a car parts shop.
