Hang on now, Willy - a sneaky Lotus (Elite?) in the background, and ... la piece de resistance ... a leather MG wheelie-bin?? Well played sir. John.

Willy, before you send it off, flip it over & make sure the bottom of the cross member is flat.

Stray garage jacks in the past can bend a dome here. Nice to straighten it first.

When it comes home, clean out all the captive threads with BSF taps prior to painting. Make sure you have no blasting medium left behind inside the rails & cross member too.

And one last thing, send us a photo of the numbers on the left and right chassis dumb irons for IMGYTR research before painting - should see them nice and clear.

Great work

Close, an Elan
The plastic leather wheely bin created a bit of a storm, You can't quite make it out in the pic, but the writing on it is actually MGB in the octagon with 'mobile garbage bin' in smaller writing underneath A couple of B owners here got a bit upset about it during an MGCC visit and havn't been back since
'tis only a bin---
Tony
It's already on the register
What is the reason for the number on the rh rail though
I've been working my way around the chassis for a while now, and I can guarantee you there isn't a dent in it anywhere- It's straighter and squarer than a new one would have been I reckon
Usually when I get things blasted I sharpen up wooden dowels and poke them in all the holes, threaded or not to stop the stuff getting in everywhere and then just leave the dowels in the threaded ones while painting
Saves a lot of cleaning up afterwards

I was amused by your comment Willy on the wheelie bin 'a couple of MGB owners got a bit upset..'. It does make me wonder whether some hobbyists of whatever ilk do have any sense of fun and humour!

Its a sad world when folk choose to see beyond the obvious and choose to imagine that the lettering on a bin represents their interest..as you correctly say ''tis only a bin'!

Have fun and a happy New Year!
All the best
