MG MG Y Type - Rear Seat Cushion YT

Hi everyone

Is there any one who can help me with construction details and measurements (height and front overhang if any particularly) of the cushion portion of the rear seat for my YT?
A sample to work from or a spare from a wreck? I think I could modify a saloon version if one were surplus.
I have numerous parts if a swap can be arranged.

Geoff ,
Thanks for your response to my querry about dash layout . It matches alternatives 2 & 3 of my querry and appears to be the way to go unless anyone can produce more concrete evidence . In relation to a rear seat cushion I have one which appears original - I will photograph it for you and add the relevant dimensions .
As I am in Ballina - Not that far from Grafton We should get together sometime soon.

Dear Geoff,

I've no idea if this is any help to you due to the distance between us, but I've a spare rear seat base section from a YA saloon if it's of any help to you. David Pelham very kindly supplied me with some interior items which were either missing or in poor state of repair for my YA, so my old base is now sat in the garage roof awaiting recirculation! Let me know if you need it and Im sure we can sort something out.

Kindest regards,

I hate being the bearer of bad news but a friend of mine here tried to convert a rear seat, both cushion and back, from a Y saloon to fit a YT. Whilst one would think that they are similar they are quite different. My recollection is that even the springs used are different. It would have been possible to manufacture a new spring cage but in the end he used my YT seats as a template, and made them out of foam. Once upholstered, they looked almost indistinguishable from the real thing.

If you would like measurements from my seat please let me know.

Regards.

Thanks everyone for your help, looks like the most effective way will be to visit David who is only 100 miles away, and make something to suit.
Thanks again

What's going on!? My kids keep asking why they never used springs in the YT seats!
