MG MG Y Type - rear spring, rubber between the layers, teflon pos

Hi
i am restoring the rear springs
all cleaned now
the most of the 24 rubbers at the end of the spring layers are damaged
this rubbers are expensive
perhaps today better material there
found self adhesive teflon plate 1,5 mm thick over all
would it be possible to put them at the end of the layers ???
PTFE Zuschnitt selbstklebend Teflon Gleiter flexibel 100 x 200 mm Stärke 1,5 mm
will cost 6 Euros incl shipping

or abs 1mm with a glued abs pin in the middle

or
nothing there

only special grease

notes would be important

Can I suggest your assemble your springs with your new teflon spacers to ensure the eye to eye distance is the same as original, otherwise the end shackle could invert. Incorrect thickness spacers will cause a different spring length. Also it has been known for springs to be put back together with some leafs reversed rear to front.

Check out the YA technical page on Paul's IMGYTR website for overall and leaf dimensions.

Hi
i have the workshop manual
you have a link to the webside you mean ?

in the moment the pads are 2mm high
the rubber was about 1mm
have found in the web some abs pads
i don t know in the moment where it was..
was 3mm

i can make them a little bit thinner
1,5 mm would be possible with this material

less information to this car in the web ;-(
