MG MG Y Type - Seat Swab Construction

I need to get front seat swabs of my YA rebuilt back to original after being poorly renovated with foam. All springs have gone!

Can any kind soul provide me with photos of a "naked" seat showing the construction of the swab. Numbers, diameters and lengths of coil springs would be useful if possible.

Thanks in anticipation.

I have an old one here you can have for the cost of shipping Don. Dont have time to do the dimensions and stuff though sorry. Contact me off line if you are interested.

And I have a half dozen spares ones here in Australia too, but that is even further away.

No covers, just the wire springy bits !.

Don't ask me why I keep all this rubbish.

Paul/Tony,

Thanks for your responses and offers. However, shipping, I think, would be prohibitive. If either of you could take a few photos showing the spring arrangement and numbers that would be a great help. Particularly the coil springs as these are missing. The "net" of chain linked springs I still have.

Mine still has the leather and all the hair on so is complete - doubt it would be much use taking a photo but if you still would like one let me know what angles etc Don. Tony's may be more revealing.

This eBay seller says he has more Y-type parts. Maybe also a seat? His phone number is in the ad.

Don,
I have a seat you can have a look at. I have to come to Cambridge some time next week, so email me and we can arrange something.

Don, let me have your email address (to mine, attached if you prefer privacy), and I'll send you photos of the underside of my YA front seats with what I think are original seat structures. The front seats have a particular pattern of spring and "stuffing" which others can very for originality/correctness.Regards, John.

Thank you all for your various inputs and suggestions.

Problem now solved thanks to Peter Sharp.
