In case any one is sceptical about this thread - Dutchdipping.com is a bonafide website - they specialize in making dipping equipment for latex products etc.

English is not Francois' mother tongue and I know I would have problems with Dutch too. What he measns is:
"I have a Y type for parts too, but I only need some parts from the chassis. Maybe I can help Y type owners who are looking for missing parts? I do not like to bring the complete car to the Netherlands.

Presumably, he has access to a car somewhere and will break it there rather than ship the car to the Netherlands as a whole. This will be an opportunity for you to perhaps get some of those parts that you can only get when a Y is sadly broken.

Francois has clearly decided to go ahead with the breaking because the car is beyond economic restoration so please do not critise his decision. He will at least be resurrecting the chassis as a Y special in the future.

Francois - please can I ask you two things?

1) can you please enter the car for Ys on Parade at www.mgytypes.org, and let us have the chassis/car number and body numbers too, and
2) please send us details after you have built your Y special too - after all, anything on a Y chassis is still an MG Y and we have a special section for Interesting Ys!

Thanks

Francois, if you are breaking it, I would be interested in YA-driveshafts, headlampstays and the D-type backlights (and of course a good bootlid and SWC, but that's pushing my luck?) Don't want to spend a fortune.

I was right - judging by Willem's post!

Ik was juist - dat het Nederlands een harde taal - oordelend door de
post van Willem is!

Hello Francois

Is this a YA or a YB? If it is a YA, I would be interested in the spare wheel compartment lid (underneath the boot lid). Unfortunately the lid of a YB will not fit a YA - so we have to make sure. Thank you.

My English is not good but I am very happy that some owners from Y types send me an e-mail about missing parts to complete there MG.
I do not have place to store un other MG.
Its not a good feeling when I dissemble the car and bring some parts to the car dump.
francois

But where is your car now ? Perhaps someone from our community who lives near to that place can collect the remains of the beast after the vultures have passed ? Better than throwing the carcass into a breaker's dump. I would also like to know if it is a YA or a YB (unlike Anton, I'd be interested in YB parts, where they differ, and in functioning Jackall rams).
Remo Peter

Remo, if you look at the Y-websites' "classified advertisments" you will find Francois offering parts and he says it's a YB
