MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Best deal on ZS 120

Can anyone tell me where I can get a really good deal on a new ZS120 for my wife. How much discount is out there.

Cheers

I stand corrected. I did not know there was a ZS 120 out. I need to learn to read more LOL.

Mark, have you looked at MG Direct web site? Also the MG web site usually has a link to look for second hand cars through its dealer network. Also, don't forget the Priveledge Discouint schemes for new MGs available for the various MG clubs and forums.

More confusing numbers, Adrian!
ZT 160 with V6
ZT 160 with 1.8 turbo
ZR 160 with 1.8 VVC

ZS 180 with V6
ZT 180 with V6 and auto box

There was much talk at the weekend at Silvertone at the high levels of discount currently available. I would visit your local dealer get some prices, use these as a strating point. Then get on the dog and bone, find a better deal, then go back to first dealer and see what he can do!

Kelvin's advice is spot on. I bought a ZS120+ mainly for my wife to use and partly because I am a member of the MG M Group I got a reasonable discount. Can't remember what the discount is/was on a new ZR - the discount when I arranged the ZS purchase three months ago varied from 0 to 22.5% depending on what model you wanted. In total with all extras (17" wheels, CD etc) my discount was around 20% which was a very worthwhile saving. Remember, that also means you'll not be paying 17.5% VAT extra on the full list price which makes the saving all the more worthwhile.

Get some figures down and show them to other dealers - If they want your business they'll match or improve on the figures you've obtained.

Martin you are a cruel cruel man!! LOL
Hey does anyone know when they are suppose to come out with the 6 gear sequential transmission with the ZR?

My advice must be good as it struck a nerve with a MGR saleman I know!! :-) So you try my formula at all dealers except at this one certain dealership not a million miles from where I live, as he reckons his deals are pretty good in the first place. He also said something about putting a car on a transporter if you lived out of the area!!
Kelvin

Whats the idea behind the Priviledge Discount Scheme? Do I qualify as a member of MG 'M'? Do you just go to your local dealer and tell them and they give it you? Just wondered because i'm after an MG ZR TD-115 if I can find a reasonable deal.

Mark,

Try Jam Jar the basic price of ZR was cheaper than discount scheme, all options are at full price. By the way I checked that these were not imported cars as dealers were telling me.

I bought a ZR 160 from trade sales direct via the internet last year at £3000 discount! Ordered it on Friday and picked it up on the Wednesday. Their web site is www.trade-sales.co.uk. Car is fantastic to drive (far better than the Cougar and Honda is I used to own) but not as fast as the wife's MGF. A couple of things to bear in mind : only one year warranty and only one key.

<<A couple of things to bear in mind : only one year warranty and only one key.>>

The one year warranty I can understand, only one key sounds suspect as (IIRC) they leave the factory with 2.

BTW aren't JamJar part of the Dixons group.
