MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Hi-Line SatNav but no TV?

Went to view a ZT190+ the other day. It was supposed to have all the toys but didn't have the TV. I thought that the Hi-Line SatNav always came with a TV?

I also thought that the TV unit was in the spare wheel well. Is this true and could its absence be linked with the missing boot floor carpet?
Adrian

I think what you have seen is the "Low-line" - I have the high line inc TV - the satnav is in the side of the boot (It's a ZTT) - nothing in the boot well except the skinny spare

No, defo the Hi-Line SatNav but, for some strange reason, without the TV. I already have SatNav in my current car and am aware of the differences between the two systems.

The SatNav "black box" with disc was in the boot tucked under the wing top-right. Where is the TV unit or is it incorporated into the SatNav black box?
Adrian

The little black box with the CD drive is the GPS Computer and contains the giro. It is a VDO unit and am certain it does not "do" the TV bit. On "proper" VDO systems the TV is a separate box.

I assumed - and it is just an assumption, the the TV tuner was part of the display and radio that sits in rhe central console.

How do you know it does not have TV.

I lost Sat Nav once and it was down to a loose connection (after hitting an unmarket speed hump in France ad 50mph!). Have the TV bit become disconnected.

TV is definitely "free" with the Hi Line Sat Nav and has never ben a separate option.

Thanks for your replies.

The reason I say it has no TV is because that is what the salesman at SMC told me. He was showing me round the SatNav when I asked about the TV function. His reply was that it wasn't fitted to that particular vehicle.

I suspect either a loose connection or something is missing/damaged on the car. Either way, doesn't leave me with much confidence in the car or the salesman. Hence my other question on the MGF board.

Adrian

Thier used to a shop specialising in Sat Nav opposite SMC in Sluff - used to be quite good and the car park used to be full of 75s from SMC.

Certainly salesman seems to be taking the easy way out - might be worth asking to see the SatNav manual as this covers the TV. Once you have this the saleman will have difficluty saying it is not fitted!

Cheers

Dont forget that the TV function must cut out when driving - strange UK laws!

You can watch the kids in the back in your rear view mirror, you can watch the couple in the car in front doing what ever they are doing you can even watch the SatNav doing its thing BUT you must not watch TV.

BTW do you need a TV License for a car TV? I remember when you had to have a radio license:-)

i would presume that you would Ted - but whether a TV detector van would chase after you at 80mph down a motorway to enforce the licence is debateable... ;o)
