MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - I do wonder why Mega even looks at this BBs !

What do you think ?
?mark

Here's my opinion, for what it's worth. Mega likes MG's. That's why he's here. He even said he buy one if it was to his satisfaction. He's just going about his gripes in the wrong way. After all, he is entitled to his opinion. If he offered a bit more constructive critism, instead of just trying to slag off all MG owners, he would be tolerated much better. As I don't own an F myself, I am in no position to comment on how good or bad they are (although I do own 2 MG's). At least they are flying the MG flag and keeping the name alive.
Remember Mega, you catch more flies with teaspoon of honey than you will with a bucket full of vinegar.

Please note that MEGA is now (causing havoc) on the MGF thread !

I know but i just HATE it when the "Rose tinted" party come a long and say all is well! It isn't there is one hell of a lot of work to be done by MGR and i am worried that they will just not bother.

It pains me to see cars like the ZS, that just if a little bit more effot had been used would now be on my drive way. I can't see WHY MGR didn't finish the job on the ZS. I know that i piss some good people off by my rants but its bloody hard when not too!

You see MGR have the playground to themselves right now, but in the year they WONT!

Just for the record, the ZT is a fine car ZS a good one ZR cheap/crappy......and the "F"......Don't ask!
Mega

MEGA - You're an uneducated prat.

You see what i mean!

Just home from school Mega?

You know guys, I think Mege likes the attention you gve him. If people didn't show such hostlity toward him, although in my opinion i don't blame anyone, then it wouldn't fuel hiswill to bother us. I'm willing to bet if we just completely ignored him, we'd see the end of Megea for a while. So instead of egging him on, lets just not respond to mega's messages. Might be worth a shot.

Amen...a voice of reason in a world of chaos!

mega appears to have sparked as many threads as Osmabin-bag and HGF...if you scratch it, it will keep annoying you.
Hugo

Hey the man is entitled to his position and opinion. Moreover, if he is indeed speaking the truth about the quality and parts availability issues, you would be wiser to pay attention to what he has to say. It's very sad, but mendacity is the system we live in. It's too easy to roll with what goes on. It takes more guts to stand up than it does to sit down. Mega impresses me as one who will stand up and if he is wrong he'll take the gaff and get on with it. Very admirable trait. Now if he can just learn to spell (lol)

Cheers,

Gary N,

Hear hear! However valid, I think what I and many others do not like to see is this repeated criticism creating a false impression that it is ONLY MG-R parts that have availability problems. Creating an unbalanced false impression is not an admirable trait in my books. I'm tempted to redress that balance with similar scenarios involving other manufacturers but,

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz .... it's BORING.

Read up J.D.POWER in TOP GEAR.
Than read up on what people who owned a MGF and said never again! (there are NO end of them). The fact that MGR are about to dump the subframes for wishbones should tell you somthing as well.

I blame BMW for this, they knew what total crap the "F" was but seeing the Z3 in the background.......did not a bloody thing about it!
Mega

I think this bitching should stop. come on MEGA, we all know what you think of different issues, especially the MGF.
Why not stop trying to get a reaction and re-word your posts so people accept your constructive points, rather than start a slaging match that doesn't go anywhere.
On the SEATcupra.net such posts are deleted within hours, and I'm sure, if the user keeps on about it, would be deleted too. Due to this, and the lack of Bitching, SEAT UK, and the dealers read the threads, and have taken some points into consideration...surely this is what is wanted!!!???!!

I don't remember any of this trouble on the Montego, Maestro & Metro BBS......!!!!

let me assure you i will NEVER go on the seat BB. I have my rants with people and them with me, but they are all Gentilmen.
Mega

Neil,

Very observant of you when you write: << I don't remember any of this trouble on the Montego, Maestro & Metro BBS......!!!! >>

But then, us MMM types are in truly a class of our own operating on a vastly higher plane as we do. As an owner yourself, you must be aware of that ..... stands to reason ... :)

Our bottleless-nonentity who continues to cowardly hide behind anonymity is sometimes, but to be fair not always, very tiresome when he insists on creating the impression that it is only MG-R products, particularly the much loved MGF which have problems ..... Oh how dreary.

I indeed have a copy of the lowly esteemed and highly over-priced TOP GEAR issue containing extracts of the incredible survey. If it appears in print it must be right; eh? Good grief!

All together NOW ..... EEEEEJIT. I too speak fluent mick-scouse.

Car enthusiasts ..... dont you just lurve 'em ... :)

John
Vauxhall got a beating one year in the J.D.Power. They took out one page ads in the papers and tired to "Blag" there way out of it!

In the end they tired to sue J.D.Power who was Happy to go to court. They saw that they had NO case and went very quite!
Mega

ANONYMOUS-Mega try this.

Imagine you're in a very large room with lots of car owners. You then ask:

"All those satisfied with their cars and thus cant be bothered to respond please keep your hands down and leave the room quietly".

You then ask: "Hands up all those that are disatisfied with their cars. Please come and tell us about it - worts and all and collect a form to complete."

What sort of response would you get? Nice balanced one no doubt which provides an accurate assessment of ALL cars.

Just imagine if only one punter responds that he's never had any troubles at all with his LexaSubaToyoHodna-san then looks like all those must be fine trouble free cars ... simple as that init!

Alright so I'm guilty of drawing an exaggerated example to illustrate a point. But, the message is a very simple one. You cant always rely on anything at face value particularly when it appears in print. You really cant.

You can pose a question or word a questionnaire to get almost any result. How you then interpret those responses can then be tailored to provide ANY result you wish to achieve. Some people charge a fortune for doing just that and they want to do it again and again.

Manifesto, Referendum, wossat then? A whole different kettle of ball games ... :)
John McFeely

Facts are facts John
By the way are you getting a new MG soon?
Mega

Very true, but who says YOU are in possession of ALL the facts or even the right ones? I'm not going to draw you any more diagrams, that's a promise because you seem determined to get it wrong.

I'll buy a new car just as soon as my old ones (there's a few) wear out ..... dont hold your breath, they're Brits remember.

AND, whilst on the subject of longevity, those surveys would have much more credence if they were on those same two-three year old cars when they were at least TWICE that age, well out of warranty and had passed through the hands of several owners, many being less caring than the first owner when those same cars were new. Dont YOU think so? I do.
John McFeely

P.S. Anonymous-Mega: When you going to reveal your identity or has your bottle permanently gone?
John McFeely

Neil Turner wrote >>>>I don't remember any of this trouble on the Montego, Maestro & Metro BBS......!!!!

Well they had first-rate seats!!!.. I just hope the chap never try’s out an older model..some seats do leave a lot to be desired don’t they? He will then be sending all sorts to those boards!
cecil kimber

John
In other words NO you are not going to buy a NEW MG. I thought so. Its the point that i would like to make, you "Love" MG. But your bloody well not going to buy one any time now are you.

I on the other hand am in a polistion to buy one. I went to the MG night here in liverpool with bank book matey. I don't want to upset John because i repect your views but MGR need to "Target" people like me.

Once the hype has gone ane the likes of Ford, Vauhall etc come to the Party with there "Anti-FAG Labour cars, MGR are in trouble!

A friend of mine dads just got a Silver ZS 180 four door. Nice very nice indeed, but MGR have done nothing about the seats etc. I will hold on till March ish if they put there mind to it ok, if not to the House of FORD (sT170).

Mgr must stop this take it or leave it feeling.
Mega

MEGA you twat - If I bought another MG I'd have nine!!!!! A guy can only cope with so much!

That's NOT counting the non-MGs or my Honda-4. Try as I may, I can only drive/ride one at a time ..... plonker scouse-git!

As I said before, YOU are determined to get it wrong on all fronts. You excel at it! I will get a Z car in due course. My problem is deciding on the colour and deciding on a ZT or ZS! Oh what a terrible position to be in!!!

Now go play with your Pug and stop poncing about on your Dad's PC - you must have a limp wrist by now or RSI at least - wont tell you again you naughty scouse person!!

.... and you're STILL poncy anonymous !!!!
John McFeely

Oh YES, said it before and will do so again. You'll NEVER get an MG as long as you've got a hole in your ....
John McFeely

Sorry John
I don't belive you Matey!
I had the chance to get to know you over the last coupe of weeks, you are not waiting on a colour/model choice. You are 100% MG, if you could, and You would have by now. When ever i have seen you "Caught" on a subject you go "Wobbley" in you writing , like now. (at least you can spell):)

Come back WHEN you CAN buy a new MGR!
Mega

WRONG - and the only way I can prove that to you is when you reveal your identity - so I'm on a loser to nothing where you're concerned Loser - you will NEVER have an MG as long as you've got a hole ...... and will you ever put YOUR money where YOUR mouth is ... no chance. I WILL when you come out of hiding ... You're getting offensive and far worse, BORING again. END.
John McFeely

We are all entitled to our opinions and to offer advice based upon our experiences. No-one has to accept that advice, it's a free world (at least for now).

For my part the most reliable and cheap to run car that I have owned was, and I kid you not, a LADA.
Bought for £125 run for 2 years, only ever needed 2 tyres and a new exhaust then sold to someone for banger racing.

I'm not for a moment suggesting that anyone who wants to feel any exitement from driving should get one but that was what happened. I've also had Fords (2 cambelt failures), Volvos (head gaskets went and prop shaft problems) and at one time a Lotus Europa (so much fun, out with the socket set every weekend to retighten various nuts and bolts).

Currently driving a ZS - it suits what I want from a car at the moment and IN MY OPINION is as good as anything comparable.

JLD

"let me assure you i will NEVER go on the seat BB. I have my rants with people and them with me, but they are all Gentilmen."

My point was, NO BBS would stand the way that you rant, normally you say what you think and then leave it, the way your going, you'll be boring your great gran children with this subject!!!

"MEGA you t**t - If I bought another MG I'd have nine!!!!! A guy can only cope with so much!"

John, My problem too, I'd love an MG ZS, but already owning 3 Montegos and the SEAT (plus the Primera GT my mum uses) I just haven't got the room :-( I already need to find a new home for one of my Montys.

"A friend of mine dads just got a Silver ZS 180 four door. Nice very nice indeed, but MGR have done nothing about the seats etc. I will hold on till March ish if they put there mind to it ok, if not to the House of FORD (sT170)."

Here we go the old seats again. So your saying that Vectra, Fiesta, Laguna, Megane blar blar blar........ seats are any good??? No, and thats after 5 years+ production. If your holding on till march for a Fraud ST170 then bugger off and leave us in piece, you've upset enough on here, you will drive people away, then who you going to argue with!!!!???

"But then, us MMM types are in truly a class of our own operating on a vastly higher plane as we do. As an owner yourself, you must be aware of that ..... stands to reason ... :)"

John, again, I think we, as 'M' owners understand the cars short comings like rust etc, but enjoy the car and for it's +ve points, of which there are many!!!

One question MEGA, how old are you??? I'd put you at 19-21 judging by your maturity, and inability to give up when asked nicely. How about spending your days on Longbridges door step with a banner, rather than on here, you might get a better result!!!!
Neil Turner

Whats wrong with being 19-21?
I'm 20 but i don't act as immature as MEGA. I would put him in the 14-18 area.
