MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - MG Z Diesel!!!

Local dealer said there were moves afoot to produce a 3.0 litre diesel for the Z combined with rear wheel drive. Anybody know anything about this?

Wonder who the hell could produce that ?
BMW have the best diesel on the market-a 6 cylinder job,but even experts Renault&peugeot don't yet have one developing more than 150 HP!

Interesting since I did test a range of Steyr monoblock diesels with 6 cyls, 3.2 litres and a range of power outputs, 165bhp and 325 ft lbs of torque, 185bhp and the same 325ft lbs of torque and a 205 bhp version with I think 340 ft lbs. This in a rear wheel drive configuration Range Rover in a production ready form - in 1991!!!!
