shouldn't imagine anyone would be sad enough to waste their money on 'code name' plates

still there's always one

Could never understand this peculiar British habit which supports columns of adverts in the Sunday papers.Another example of activities with zero added value.
.(Had a Luxembourg friend who arrived in a Porsche registration JB 007-he couldn't believe that in the UK the number was worth more than the car!

Number plates for some is like bying and selling of shares... single motivation is to make a few quid!!

Sadly buying up a load of plates from the DVLA sometime does not prove to be a money spinner!!

Didn't stop me selling P14 MGF for twice what I payed for it from the DVLA - and P14 has no MG relevance at all.

Martin
4 MGF
PS. MG1 sold for £100k to a dealer who no doubt thinks there is room for a profit margin on this.
PPS. Look at most MGF's on the road and you will notice that 50% of them have personal plates.

You have to admit though Martin te X plates have not been a good investment?

Also didn't stop me selling A16OTF for double what I paid for it.

There is a market for plates, although I didn't buy that one with the intention of selling, I was thinking of buying a TF160 at the time.

So what stopped the TF160 purchase?

The "X" plates must now be a little pointless.
George Hunt

Steve ZR105 now I heard, should have had a TF160.

I bought them to put on a Z saloon. I couldn't make up my mind which one I wanted though, so I bought one for each model to cover all possibilities. The wife may be getting a ZR soon, but she has 8949MG to go on that one, so all three plates are still for sale. I may be selling the F in the next 6-12 months so I may want to use one of these plates myself.
