MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - OK Wheres the Turbo ZS/ZR?
WELL?, I see NO TURBO 1.8! Mega. Never mind always Ford,Vauxhall etc etc.
Mega
hmm.... why if the ZR160 1.8VVC is the sportier model is is the ZR rally car is a 1.6? - this size engine isn't even an option on the ZR rob
rob
Err its a 1.6 because the rules of the championship it is entered into state a 1.6 powerplant, hence the championship name.....Super1600. Who knows we may well get a S1600 road car spin off?

Dave What you must understand is that this Tubo engine has been promised since last summer. Ford/Vauxhall(GM/VW are coming to the party and MGR have nothing to wear! Mega

IIRC, I read someplace that the 1.6 K series would be better suited for turbocharger use for a number of reasons.
John McFeely
i hope it will be turbocharged, however it will more than likely be supercharged, as the underbonnet temperatures involved a hell of a lot lower, and supercharged prototypes were built a while ago (a rover 200 with a 6spd sequential gearbox, its probably been crushed by now)

Fraid so Leon
Mega
I see your point Mega, and I'm sure MGR do too. A Supercharged 200 ehh, would have liked to have seen that, did you see it then?
David Harasym
Supercharged 1.8 K -series are discussed in another thread- they look certain to be on there way- a tax friendly way of getting KV6 performance! Turbo charging? Where did that come from? The only form of forced induction that has been a serious possibility (to my knowledge!) has been supercharging, so I am 100% confident that MGR NEVER promised a turbo charged K. For one of those, I suggest you chat to Brodie Britan Racing... http://www.bbrgti.demon.co.uk/ Turbo-charging, an excellent way of harnessing those super-heated exhaust gases Mega ;o)

Mega, Liverpool Dave What you must understand is that this Tubo engine has been promised since last summer. Ford/Vauxhall(GM/VW are coming to the party and MGR have nothing to wear! Mega ---------------- Promised by whom? Who promised you a turbo MG, Mega? Hmmm? There's a difference between "speculation in the press/enthusiast community" and "promised by the manufacturer". Besides, what the hell is a "Tubo engine"? Is that some sort of forced-induction system using a tuba mounted on the hood? Some of the "ram-air" Pontiac Firebirds look kind of like that... -R

Hmmmmm Vermont, they always come from a state with a V in it;)
Mega
Answer the question. Back up your claim. Who promised you a turbo, Mega? -R
Ricardo Dodge
Answer mine first!
Mega
Uh, what question Mega? -R
Ricardo Dodge
You know ricky, the trade war one, on the other post.
Mega
We're talking about turbos on this thread, "Megy". And as I said on the other thread, when I go to an MG site, I prefer to discuss MGs. When I want to discuss international trade, I go elsewhere. So who promised you a turbo? -R
