MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Shocking speed!

Hi Gang
I was wondering if anyone has seen a type "R" Honda in full flight? I was passed a few days ago by a Golf 4 motion. Powerful V6 , but it weights the same as the QE2.

I not speeding but i come up behind him a a set of lights on the East langs by St Helens.

next to him is a type "R" Honda. The lights change and i give him a little head start. He gets away well, but is than pasted by the "R". I cant see it so i assume thats its is a lenght of two in front.

The Golf is brand new, engine tight, and the driver is missing his gear changes. My engine is up for it, i bang though the gears with spot on timing (For once) and close up on him.

He refusers to pull in, and we are now at 95 mph, i call it a day, point made. I now pull into the slow lane to see how far ahead the Type"R" is.

Bloody HELL!!!!!
He is like 4-6 seconds down the road! He is a dot on the skyline. Gone! Elvis had left the bulding!!!!.

Anyone else seen Type "R" action?
Mega
P.s Waiting time for a Cooper-S is now December!!!

Although they might look the same on paper 197/202 after the golfs transmision losses are taken into account there is a world of difference. You only have to look a the 0-100 times CTR-16.2 VW-18.2 .
I dont know why you slag your pug off so much-one of the best hot hatches of the last 20 years and IIRC set the benchmark for handling for the zeds.
I'm looking forward to a rumble with a golf 4 motion in the 180:O)
As for the CTR,i will not take one on in a drag race but on a twisty A/B road i fancy my chances.

Good evening Peter
I think you would be surpized by the connering speed of the Type "R". Forget this weeks Autocar, in the dry i hear there is not much to touch a type "R".

My information comes from a friends track day with his Lotus Esprit Turbo. The Type "R" was the surprize of the day!

Another thread from the Scouser that has nothing to do with MG's

Why does he bother?

I have to say that I'm in total agreement with most of you on this.

This BBS is a service dedicated to MG owners or those seriously interested in finding out more about MGs. Continuously slagging models off and posting completely irrelevant material is neither use nor ornament.

Whilst certain Mega posts maybe amusing they are not constructive and, being a psychologist, allude to more sinister goings on.

For instance, many of Mega's postings are late at night and he has been known to contribute 7 days in a row. This shows a complete lack of social life (friends).

Additionally, slagging off things like seating positions in the ZR so incessantly shows an unhealthy obsession with trying to get a point across. This equates to a feeling of insecurity insomuch as the same point, he feels, needs made again and again. If he was succint, a single post would suffice instead of repeated postings on the same subject.

Thirdly the fact very few posts have anything to do with the title of this BBS points to the conclusion that he is someone who does not like authority and instead prefers to fend for himself and go off at tangents whenever he sees fit. Again, this is an insecurity issue perhaps as a result of having no friends, and feels continual postings will help to bolster his status in this electronic circus!

If he was a paying client of mine, I'd have him admitted to my private clinic and a full assessment undertaken.

But my conclusion would no doubt be that he should f*ck off!

If Mega's comments annoy you so much, why not ignore them? I could be wrong, but I'm sure if everyone ignored his posts, then he'd soon get bored and wouldn't bother - Mega?
Personally I don't give a toss about what he posts. I read it, if it's crap I ignore it, etc. The rest of you are pretty sad individuals if you get wound up so easily. Get a bloody life and realise that there are far more important things in this world. Jeez, what a bunch of loosers!

Bit strong that mate but I do agree with some of the above. I'm sure that if people didn't reply to his threads he would soon vacate the site. Lets send him to Coventry!

K Blades

Mega's post seems the to be fully of sweetness and light in comparison to some of the bile and profanity strewn replies.
Patrick

Kevin,
What on earth do you have against Coventry?
The city has done a lot the automotive industry over the years, It has it's problems and does not deserve MEGA.
JLD

So i take it you haven't be "Type"R"ed as yet?

So which Degree Mill did you get your Ph.D from then?

Can't agree with you diagnosis - the individual is simply a twat who does not deserve this amount of attention. To Ignore is by far the best therapy.

Yeah Coventry it is!!!

PS: A.W. Indup, Are you Megas twin brother!?

Mike Mega,
You wouldn't catch me racing a Type R in my ZR160 - in an old TG review the figure to 100 was like 8 seconds quicker!! Mike, I don't find your posts annoying, why not start posting over on Pistonheads.com/gassing I feel you'd get a better reception there.
Tim.
Tim Ellingham

Thanks tim, but some how i feel its all right that i post here. It may surprise you but i do get good reveiws from time to time.

I see myself as a conter weight to all the nonsence that everything is fine with MGR etc.
Cheers
